Rosalind Wise draws inspiration from nature, capturing expansive flower gardens and meadows on canvases often measuring four to five feet wide. “Standing in a field or before a vibrant garden, I’m overwhelmed by a deep sense of pleasure,” she says. “The fragrances, the view of the whole scene, and the details of individual plants, grasses, and flowers make me want to paint what I’m experiencing, to encapsulate its essence.” Working from on-site studies, collected specimens, and photographs, Wise completes her richly layered paintings in her workshop, with each piece reflecting her love for nature.
